The City of New Orleans’ Office of Supplier Diversity recently recognized Dyna-Play, LLC for “Success in Certification” as a DBE firm.

How has the DBE program helped your business?
Because we represent and sell the highest quality products in our industry, we are not always the lowest bidder. Due to the SLDBE program and participation requirements we can now provide owners/specifiers the high quality products desired and needed for heavy commercial use without being concerned that the project will be lost to an inferior product at a much lower cost. This allows the owner to be happy and secure with the final product, the general contractor to meet their participation requirement and DYNA-PLAY, LLC the opportunity to thrive in a very competitive market.
Has your company increase staff since becoming certified?
Yes, I have hired a part time administrative assistant.
What are your current contracts?
We just completed the playground equipment installation at Di Benedetto Playground for the City of New Orleans. We also have (2) playground projects for HANO by end of 2014.

DYNA-PLAY, L.L.C. is Louisiana Licensed Specialties Contractor (#43833); certified as a SLDBE through the City of New Orleans, DBE/SBE through the Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and HANO. We are also certified as an EDWOSB through the SBA.
Eve M Werner (Owner) is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector through the National Playground Safety Institute and a Qualified Playground Contractor through the International Playground Contractors Association. She has been servicing Louisiana customers in this industry since 1987.
What peaked your interest in the DBE program and why would you recommend other small business to apply for DBE certification?
As a 100% woman owned and run small business in a male dominated industry, it was necessary to gain an advantage in my market. After hurricane Katrina, it was difficult to secure any work in the City of New Orleans. Through the years, private work has grown but public projects have still been minimal. Over the past year since being certified, we have secured (3) projects for the City of New Orleans and we hope to grow along with the City as it expands into the future with updating their parks and play spaces. I wanted to apply for this certification years ago but never found the time. I’m glad I finally did. It was worth it!
How do you see your business growing in the future as a result of your DBE status?
The City of New Orleans is growing and getting better every day. The accomplishments that the City has made since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina are amazing. Besides providing safe and fun play environments for the children that live here, the City also wants to continue to expand tourism. The beautification and addition of public spaces is a necessity for its future. I believe that DYNA-PLAY, LLC can be a small part of this growth by providing our quality products and services needed to create premiere-quality park and play environments.
